Tip of the Week
A degree is a "signpost" on the wheel of a horoscope that marks where the planet or astrological point is placed. The circle of the horoscope is 360 degrees, marked off into 12 sectors of 30 degrees each. The beginning is 0 Aries. There is no 30 degrees. After 29 the sectors start again at 0 of the following sign as in 29 Aries, 0 Taurus. The degrees are always counted from 0 at the beginning of each sector, at the start of the sign that rules that sector. Thus, 90 degrees on the horoscope is read as 0 degrees Cancer, and the wheel does not end at 360 degrees, but at 29 Pisces (the last sign of the zodiac).
